Former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Renato "Babalu" Sobral (35-8) found himself without a fight with the news that DREAM would be canceling it's light-heavyweight tournament. Fans of "Babalu" need not worry, the fighter has just agreed to meet Robbie Lawler (19-5) in a 195 pound catch-weight bout at Strikeforce: Los Angeles.

Strikeforce announced Tuesday that Frank Shamrock (23-9-2) will face Nick Diaz (18-7) as part of their main event debut on Showtime. The catch-weight for this event will be contested at 179 pounds.

ProElite Inc will not go down without a fight, at least in regards to Showtime Networks Inc. plans to host a public auction on November 17. The auction is set to pay back the 6.3 million owed to Showtime(at least some of what is owed) by turning the EliteXC video library and fighter contracts into liquid cash. ProElite, however, is looking to stop this auction.

Showtime Networks Inc. will be auctioning off the remaining assets of ProElite, the parent company for MMA promotion EliteXC, in an attempt to retrieve some of the money owed to them. It's being reported by 5thRound that Online Broadcasting Systems is looking to purchase the online assets of EliteXC. Online Broadcasting Systems is the parent company for better known Ringsports, and CEO Manny Fernandez commented via this statement:
