Lyoto-Machida
UFC light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (16-0) took part in a Q&A session earlier this week with Brazilian RedeTV which included many questions about his friend UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva.

Currently Silva’s next bout appears to be scheduled for Feb. 6 at UFC 109 but Machida says his friend won’t be back into the octagon till April.

About the discussed combat between Anderson and Vitor Belfort, the karateka commented: “Their fight isn’t confirmed. It seems Anderson will fight only in April because of his elbow. They’re great fighters and it’s hard to say who would win.”

When asked about UFC president Dana White’s comments that he would make a fight happen between Machida and Silva, ‘The Dragon’ was steadfast that he would never face his fellow Brazilian. He still wants to challenge himself against the best the UFC has to offer and may look at going up in weight-class to do it.

“We won’t fight because we’re friends. We hang out, go to dinner and do many things together. I want to defend the belt some times and after that, make a personal challenge to test my potential. But it’s a thought for the future. Who knows – will I be the heavyweight champion one day?”
