CRITERIA FOR RANKING
These rankings are based on a scientific system that regards (but is not limited to), the following criteria:
1. Recent Performance
(…within a 3 year period. But entire record is also taken into
consideration. It depends on how it effects recent performance. How fights end are also important…KO, TKO, SUB, DEC, etc. Domination of opponent, referee’s actions, judges bias…are all taken into consideration as well.)
2. Opponent’s Record
(The quality of opposition is always taken into consideration.
Who-beat-Who is important in determining this factor. Records of
opponents are carefully researched.)
3. Experience
(If a fighter has a record with 20 or more wins, then, depending on the quality of opposition, he would be regarded above a fighter with 10 or less wins, if quality of opposition is equal to. But other factors, such as results and performance of said wins, are also considered. If a fighter has only 4 or 5 wins, and is unranked, but just totally dominated a TOP TEN contender, then he might be ranked above someone with much more experience. All factors must be considered.)
4. Skill Level
(The skill level and talent of each fighter is considered only if said
fighter has a record of facing quality opposition. Obviously if he has the skill level of a BJ Penn yet has only faced guys with records of 2-14, or 10-24-9, then considering is skill level makes little sense.)
This is a fair and unbiased system to rank fighters.
Unless all of these factors are taken into consideration, voting for
rankings becomes, more or less, a popularity contest.
